Prepare project phases

A project can contain multiple phases, each with its own attributes. After you create a project, you must create phases for the project.

Create a phase

To create a phase, complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the Design tab if it's not already the active view.

  2. Click on an existing project in the side pane list and expand it.

  3. Click Create new phase at the top of the pane to create a phase.

  4. Provide a name for the phase in the Name text box.

  5. Provide a description of the phase in the Description text box.

  6. Provide the start date for the phase in the Start Date text box.

    Tip:

    Click on the calendar icon in the text box to choose a date from a calendar.

  7. Provide the end date for the phase in the End Date text box.

    Tip:

    Click on the calendar icon in the text box to choose a date from a calendar.

The phase's properties are set. The map settings for the phase must be configured.

Configure the map

After the phase's properties have been set, configure the phase's map settings by completing the following steps:

  1. Click on the MAP tab.

  2. Click on the Area of Interest drop-down arrow and choose the corresponding index layer.

    By default, the phases uses the project's area of interest.

  3. Click on the Basemap drop-down arrow and choose a basemap for your phase.

    By default, the phases uses the project's basemap.

  4. Specify the longitude and latitude values in the Longitude and Latitude text boxes for the coordinates that your phase should center on.

    By default, the phases uses the project's coordinates.

  5. Provide a numerical value in the Zoom Level text box that corresponds to the extent of the phase.

    By default, the phases uses the project's extent.

    Tip:

    Preview the extent and location on the adjacent interactive map. Adjusting this map updates the specified values.

  6. Click SUBMIT.

The phase is created and appears listed in the side pane under its corresponding project in the side pane. Click Create new phase at the top of this pane to create another phase or update a phase's settings by selecting it from the list and providing new values for the phase's properties.

Note:

When updating a phase's settings, the CREATE PHASE tab becomes the UPDATE PHASE tab.
